Rebels in India's north-eastern state of Tripura are making porn movies to raise money for their separatist campaign, officials say. The BBC reports that surrendered guerrillas of the National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT), have made the claims, according to police. They say the rebels are forcing captured tribal women, and some men, to take part in the films. The films are then dubbed to be sold in India and neighbouring countries.

"The films were found to be dubbed in Burmese, Bengali, Thai and Hindi, suggesting they were being marketed to many countries in the region," said Ghanshyam Murari Srivastava, Tripura's police chief.
The latest pornographic video to emerge is Hamjagoi Tongthoklaima, or Our Experiences. Like any mainstream adult movie, it runs a full cast of "heroes" and "heroines".
"This seems to have started a year or two back," says local journalist Manas Paul who began legal proceedings to bring this to the notice of the authorities. "But it is now rampant, so many of these discs are circulating all over our state and possibly in other parts of northeast India as well," he said.
In some other northeast Indian states like Manipur, the rebels punish those who produce pornography. In the state of Manipur, some girls who acted in porn films were shot in the legs, as were the producers.

A Missouri state law that placing strict new restrictions on strip clubs has been declared unconstitutional. Circuit Judge Richard Callahan said provisions of the law, which was to go into effect this week, violate state constitutional limits on amending a bill beyond its original purpose, and First Amendment protections of nude dancing.
The state may not limit persons of majority age from engaging in lawful expressive conduct protected by the 1st Amendment of the United States Constitution without a substantial and direct connection to adverse secondary effects, a showing that has not been made, Callahan said in the declaratory judgment.
The law, signed in July by Governor Matt Blunt, would have banned semi-nude lap dancing, and any dancers who escaped this ban would have had to stay at least 10 feet from each other. A customer would have faced a misdemeanor charge for tucking a dollar bill into a dancer's G-string, and all dancers and customerswould have to be at least 21 years old.
The Bill's sponsor, the reactionary and ill-informed Senator Matt Bartle, said similar laws have been upheld in other states. "I react to what my constituents have asked for", Bartle said before the ruling. "I think smut shops in Missouri are incredibly destructive in people lives." Where's the evidence, Bartle?
The subject of the bill that included the strip club restrictions was passed under the heading of "crime" after it initially was labeled as a bill for alcohol-related traffic offenses. Bartle gave lawmakers 50 case studies that support his belief that strip clubs decrease surrounding property values and increase crime - all of which were presum, ably hearsay and nonsense. Richard Bryant, an attorney for the adult industry, said the studies were endorsed by religious groups and he rightly called them "bogus." He said a secondary impact study conducted a couple of years ago in Kansas City found that adult businesses did not increase crime or sink property values.
The attorney general's office said it was reviewing Callahan's decision and didn't yet know what actions it might take.

A strip club in Des Moines, Iowa has gone to court to defend its right to advertise its location.
The owners of Minx Show Palace have sued the Polk County Board of Adjustment this weekafter the Board tried to tear down a sign - which simply says the name of the club. There were no problems until January, when a different Minx billboard, which featured pictures of scantily clad women, caused several complaints. County officials say a subsequent review of all adult-business signs uncovered the problem.
John Rowan, code enforcement manager for Polk County, said that the 2002 permit apparently was a mistake, and that Minx officials must install a different sign that's attached to their building.
The Minx owners' lawsuit challenges both the county's "arbitrary and capricious" decisions and the legality of county regulations for adult businesses. Polk zoning rules require that "advertisements, displays or other promotional materials" for adult businesses "shall not be shown or exhibited so as to be visible to the public from pedestrian sidewalks, walkways, or from other public or semi-public areas."
What that amounts to, according to Minx attorney Kathryn Barnhill, is "so long as the public can't see it, you're welcome to have a sign."

It's always struck me as odd that while certain local councils ban strip clubs from opening, they have no objections to shows like Puppetry of the Penis, where naked men manipulate their genitalia into assorted shapes. hypocrites, I call 'em.
But one small town politician is being relentless in his bid to keep the modern world out of his locale. Haverhill councillor Chris Cullum is trying to have the Penis Pupptry banned from the local arts centre.
He said he would write to Tim Marks, Mayor of Haverhill, about the planned performance. He said: "I am not against all this sort of thing, but there was controversy a couple of years ago when we had the issue of lap dancers and strippers appearing at Rush Nightclub. Objections were raised on the town council and I just don't think it is appropriate we should be hosting this in a small town like Haverhill. I know we are trying to get Haverhill on the map, but is this really necessary? If we are having this are we going to get lap dancers and strippers next? I don't see how you can allow one and refuse the others."
Good point, even if made for the wrong reasons. Lest we think Cullum is standing up for fair play, I doubt he wants strippers and lap dancers either. He had already fretted that an earlier performance of Moll Flanders would contain strong language and nudity. Good Lord, how shocking!
Nick Keeble, the council's leisure manager, said he had received no other complaints about the show, which was on a national tour.
Curious readers can buy the Puppetry Of The Penis DVD.

Black Rebel Motorcycle Club have returned with their third album Howl, an impressive change of pace
that sees the band swapping their Jesus and Mary Chain-esque wall of sound for a bluesy, roots flavoured collection of songs that is unquestionably their best work to date. And for the promo video for single Ain't No Easy Way, they have combined a sense of post-war decadence with teasing striptease.
The video ,Directed by former Brian Jonestown Massacre member Charles Mehling, shot in Kiev at a disused brothel, and features Soviet military commanders enjoying the delights of scantily clad strippers and Irving Klaw movies.
The video comes in two flavours - one aimed at MTV and the like, and a rauncher one that is full of nudity. Good luck finding the one you want to see!
You can watch and download the video - and a making of documentary - here.
You can buy Howl here.

WH Smith has been attacked by a new looney group for selling Playboy-branded stationery to schoolgirls.
The WH Smith stationery range includes pink ring binders, mini pads, diaries, zip files, gel pens and eraser sets, all featuring Playboy's iconic bunny symbol and is being sold as pupils begin to prepare for the new school year. New UK pressure group Object has criticised the chain as "irresponsible" for promoting a brand that is part of the sex industry.
Playboy Enterprises has launched a wide range of products ranging from stationery and chocolate to mobile phone covers, all featuring the famous Bunny logo. Other high street stores like Argos and Debenhams also sell product such as the inflatable chairs and lighters featuring the logo.
Jennifer Drew, chair and quite possibly sole member of Object, said: "We are challenging the normalisation of porn into mainstream media. We feel that the move by WH Smith to sell Playboy items and direct this merchandise to young girls is wrong. In doing so, it is giving out the message that it is acceptable to have girls as sex objects. Object is not against sexuality, but it is against exploitation."
Yeah, right. Object is clearly a hardline, outdated feminist crank organisation, entirely against erotic entertainment and would prefer us to return to the bad old days of repression and fear.
WH Smith claim that the stationery is being sold as a popular fashion range and that the image is not inappropriate in any way. We do however find it ironic that while happy to sell this merchandise, WH Smith still refuse to stock Playboy magazine.

A Yarmouth hotelier has claimed that elderly tourists will be driven away from the resort if a lapdancing club gets a 20-hour-a-day licence.
The extension would allow Angels club and the Long Bar and Bar X along Marine Paradeto remain open from 10am to 6am, seven days a week. But owners of the New Beach Hotel, located above the bar complex, say no tourist will return to the resort if subjected to noise throughout the night.
Karen Sawbridge, operations director for hotel owners Leisureplex, has written to Yarmouth Borough Council stating that the current 11am to 2am licence was bad enough. She wrote:
"I object in the strongest terms to any proposed extension to the hours of operation. "The very substantial noise which emanates from the bars leads to our overnight guests, who are generally elderly clientele, suffering from serious sleep deprivation, with the consequential effects this has on their general wellbeing. None of them ever wishes to return to Yarmouth as any good experience they have while on holiday is totally negated by the horrendous noise and nuisance they have to suffer so late into the night every day. All of this noise and nuisance is caused by the Angels Bar, Long Bar and Extreme Cocktail Bar." Of course, if you open a hotel about a nightclub and bar complex, then you might well expect noise...
The new licence would allow customer participation games, live music and karaoke to feature until 6am.

Awful 'talent' show The X Factor returns to British TV screen tonight, with taste-free judges Shron Osbourne and Simon Cowell casting their critical eye over a bunch of desperate wannabes eager to have a hit single on the back of their TV appearances before being thrust back into deserved obscurity. Amongst the contestants this year in none other than sexy UK porn starlet Michell Thorne.
Talking to British tabloids, Thorne stated "I decided to go into modelling a couple of years ago, and found it really took off from day one for me."
A 'couple of years is something of an exaggeration - she's been around for at least six years now. But she continues,
"until then I'd been a professional vocalist - yes, I can sing - which took me all over the UK singing professionally in holiday camps and clubs, working with such artists as Bobby Davro, Billy Pierce, Joe Pasquale, The Barron Knights and The Drifters.
"I've also appeared in professional pantomimes such as Aladdin and I was once a cheerleader for the English Monarchs - a UK American football team - and I used to sing the anthem before each game.
"My modelling work was then fast becoming the main focus of my attention and during a short space of time I'd appeared on the front cover of some of the most popular men's magazines in Europe. I have also modelled for newspapers like The Daily Star, The Sun, The Daily Sport and The News of the World.
"At the moment I am on my second year's contract with Playboy TV and The Adult Channel, presenting every two to three weeks."

Unmentioned is the fact that Michelle's main body of work is in hardcore, where she has given many a stirring performance in titles like Have Dick Will Travel.
We at Striporama have far too much musical taste to wates our precious time watching this horrible show, but will be tapping our less fussy associates for reports on how she does.

The Naked Ramblers who we reported on last month will no longer face court action in Shropshire after the case was dropped.
Stephen Gough, his girlfriend Melanie Roberts and Jeffrey Woodhouse were due before Shrewsbury Magistrates'Court yesterday to answer a complaint of breaching the peace which was made against them after they were arrested in Quina Brook, near Wem, on July 18.
But the Crown Prosecution Service said it had decided to drop the complaint“after not hearing of any similar problems since they left Shropshire on July 21. CPS spokeswoman Carol Doherty said: "We couldn't drop the case because there was never actually a charge, so what we've done is withdraw the complaint."

The striptease industry has enough problems without the dancers themselves damnding more censorship, but that's what is happening in Australia.
Fearing the planned liberalisation of the state's adult entertainment industry could compromise their income, Queensland dancers are seeking an urgent meeting with Liquor Licensing Minister Margaret Keech.
The changes recommended by the Crime and Misconduct Commission include allowing women to work in private booths with clients, and more graphic stripteases which include touching. Stripper Rachel, repersenting 150 colleagues on the Gold Coast, said the industry was already too liberal. "We don't understand why Queensland is leading the way in Australia when it comes to blurring the lines between dancing and prostitution", she whined. “Of course, no-one is forcing her to remain in the industry if she has such moral objections.

The South West London borough of Sutton could get its first lap dancing club after a planning application was submitted to the council by Essex-based leisure company Horne & Hall Associates.
Inevitably, opposition from sexually-phobic councillors has already turned the application into a issue.
The club would open six days a week and offer adult entertainment as well as food and drink from 5pm until 2am. Conservative councillors claim there are already too many licensed premises in town and approving the strip club application would be detrimental to Sutton's image - clearly they are under the misaprehension that anyone outside the local area has even heard of the place.
A Conservative spokesman stated: "The Conservatives call on council officers and the majority Lib Dem group to immediately oppose this application and make it clear no such sort of activity will be allowed in the borough. This is yet another blow to the image of Sutton and, if this were allowed, it would make Sutton High Street even less appealing than it is at the moment."
Horne & Hall company director Chris Hall said the club would cater for male and female clientele and would enhance both the local economy and Sutton's entertainment scene.
"We're not in your face, we would be very discreet in the location we're just offering another arm of entertainment to the local town centre and we could create a lot of employment. It's not sex, it's sexy".
The plans will be submitted to the council's development control committee for a final decision.

An underwear fiend has been served with an ASBO (anti Social behaviour Order) banning him from setting foot on the Isles of Scilly for seven years.
Andrew Stephan was handed the order after a judge ruled his continual theft of underwear, sex toys and photographs from women on the island were not serious enough for prison. He was sentenced to 150 hours of unpaid community service and £1,000 in costs.
Stephan was told by the judge that he had stolen "particularly personal items". Llewellyn Sellick, defending, said Stephan was "deeply ashamed" at what he had done. He added that banning him from Scilly, where his daughter and son live with his estranged wife, would have the effect of "banishment from his home". Detective Constable Alan Barnsley said afterwards that the ASBO was the "main thing", adding: "These women haven't got to see him for the next seven years."

The exhibition of finalists for The Erotic Awards - including Striporama - is now open at Coffe, Cake and Kink in Covent Garden, London. We're delighted to be in such good company!
To quote the press release: These finalists were nominated by the public and selected by our Grand Jury of Conspicuous Sensuality. The performers were judged at a preview night - SHOWCASE - at Hoxton Hall on Thursday 9th June.
The Erotic Awards is a celebration rather than serious competition, and selecting the winner is an almost impossible task.
However, the judges will shortly be making our decisions and the announcements will be made at the Night of the Senses at SeOne on 3rd September.

Striporama is about to sink into Heat magazine territory. Sorry...
Actor Leonardo Dicaprio was 'harassed' by strippers while shooting his upcoming movie The Departed. An easily excited group of scantily-clad strippers came looking for him on the set in Boston. Co-star Matt Damon mumbled, "we had one night where we were shooting all night next to a strip club. And there's just this point where we're driving to the set and like 20 girls in G-strings with dollar bills coming out were like, 'Where's Leonardo?' "I'm like, 'Yes, my friend, this is my home. Welcome."

Meanwhile, the gossip columns are gushing over the HIGHLY unlikely prospect of Johnny Depp making porn. The laughable claims are based on a throwaway, clearly light-hearted comment made by Depp during a presumably tedious press jaunt to Germany where he is promoting Charlie and the Chocolate Family.
"These kind of characters are not so far from my own personality, but I don't want to become typecast as an eccentric" he said. "Maybe next time I should do something totally different and film a cracking porn with Tim Burton. That would really send my popularity down to the depths!"
We're not holding our breath waiting for Depp to appear in Tim Burton's Anal Apocalypse...

Olga Rodionova, the wife of a Russian banker and media tycoon, is going to sue the Sunday Times newspaper for libel after the paper wrote that she intended to star in softcore porn. She claims the report to be false.
Maybe so, but let's look at the facts. Rodionova has posed nude for Playboy and Penthouse amongst "dozens" of menØs magazines. She posed naked stroking a stuffed bear and lying on a Soviet era propaganda banner surrounded by Russian police officers and appeared wearing only a pair of dark glasses under a portrait of Leonid Brezhnev, the former Communist Party Secretary General, in the arms of a soldier who caresses her as several other servicemen wait their turn. Soft porn, most people might say.
In RodionovaØs interview with the paper, she commented "I see no problem with showing off a beautiful naked body. Nor do I think there is anything wrong with the sex scenes in my film. I have always dreamt of acting and I see the nudity as art. I have no time for those who criticize me for posing. They are being narrow-minded. They may criticize but clearly they are still interested. If they donØt understand the difference between eroticism and porn, then I can only feel sorry for them."
Hmm.
Rodionov family have already hired attorneys specialising in libel to defend Mrs. Rodionova's reputation in a court. So let's see... a nude model who has posed for soft porn magazines will claim her reputation has been damaged by claims that she was to appear in a soft porn film? Good luck with that...

Graves County has rejected a bid by a Tennessee businessman to open a "gentleman's club" in the rural area of Farmington. Judge-Executive Tony Smith rejected an effort Monday night by Charles Redden to open an adult-oriented club in the small community east of Mayfield.
"I've tried to listen to people and the issues that had been raised," Smith said. "Overwhelmingly, this is what my decision is based on."
Only one entertainment licence had been issued in Graves County in the last 30 years, for a video arcade in the small crossroads of Dublin. The arcade no longer exists. Sounds a GREAT place to live.
Inbred locals were relieved at the rejection. "I'd be afraid for my children to be out in the yard. We'd have to look at it every single day," said the aptly named Sherry Grimm. "We've lived there for 21 years. If something like this went up, I'd consider moving. It would break my heart. The school is right across the field." Donald Farmer, a pastor (you knew one would turn up!), also expressed concerns and said his easily frightened wife told him she would be afraid to drive down the road if the club were there. "It will bring in the kind of people we don't want," he said. "I'm all for growth, but not this."

You may be blissfully unaware of the fact that tomorrow - in the USA at least - is National Undearwear Day. Says who? Well, US based online retalier Freshpair.com have started the 'c
elebration' as a thinly disguised publicity stunt.
To quote their press release:
"Founded in August 2003, National Underwear Day is an event that evokes the care-free attitude of Sixties 'happenings', when free spirits took control of public spaces as venues for their art, their message. Our message at Freshpair is the belief that underwear deserves a lot more recognition than it gets. Americans spend more than $13 billion on intimate apparel each year and for that kind of money, we feel it is our duty to tell the world. With National Underwear Day, we've taken underwear out of the dresser drawer and into the streets - by sending twenty male and female models out clad only in our finest undergarments."
The website indeed has plenty of images of male and female models in the most unattractive and cumbersome underwear imaginable confronting confused members of the public in New York. We've opted for a more agreeable underwear image to illustrate the story, courtesy of Figleaves.
The public have been urged to sign petitions supprting national recognition of National Underwear day. Don't hold your breath...

Five people were arrested on Sunday at a strip club where investigators said they discovered an underage dancer.
Gregg County Sheriff's Office said that Elisa V. Zamacona and Anthony C. Coleman, co-owners of the Paradise Club, were employing unlicensed and underaged dancers at the club on Texas 31 about four miles west of Kilgore.
Seventeen-year-old Jennifer L. Haynes, Carrie Ann Dobberthien, 26, and Brittney Sade Jackson, 19 were arrested for not having licenses to work at a sexually-oriented business.

CAUTION: STORY CONTAINS HUMOROUS NAMES
A Sept. 15 court date was set Thursday for three women accused of spanking a truck driver too vigorously at his birthday party.
As reported last month, Sensations Night Club, Jacksonville customer Keith Lowery of Bald Knob (ho ho!) says they went overboard in giving him an onstage spanking during a 31st birthday celebration.
. North Little Rock attorney Jeff Wankum (snigger...) entered innocent pleas Thursday for the defendants.

August 09 2005 - Ex-Servicemen's club plans strip shows

The committee of the Wymondham and District Ex-Servicemen's Club has applied for an adult entertainment licence which could bring strippers to their historic hall.
The club has a membership of about 300 ex-servicemen, aged mainly in their 60s and 70s, and includes many who served in the Second World War.
Inevitably, the application has provoked outrage from local busybodies who falsely claim it will bring antisocial behaviour and excess noise to the area.
Like all pubs and clubs, has had to re-apply for its licence under the conditions of the Licensing Act 2003 and has proposed a number of changes. This includes serving alcohol until midnight and 1am at weekends, hosting plays, pantomimes, musical events, darts and pool matches. The changes also include a clause to allow male and female strippers to perform at the club, up to four times a year.
Club secretary Peter Birch said there were not any definite plans to have strippers but said they were simply applying for permission now so they did not have to do so again at a future date. "The adult entertainment licence is for four times a year and is something we might do in the future. It is something we thought we should put it, as a possible. There is no big change in direction. We are just trying to cover all our bases so we don't have to go through this palaver again."
Nevertheless, neighbours have written to lobby South Norfolk Council licensing committee. 86-year-old Gwendoline Wallace, who lives near the club, said she was "appalled and devastated" by the proposals. . She said revellers parking outside her home often blocked ambulances and workers from social services who needed to visit her 90-year-old husband George, who is terminally ill. "Even Saturday nights are sometimes very distressing for us," she said. All of which is regrettable, but surely will remain the case regardless of strip shows. Is she also objrecting to darts matches and panto? I suspect not.
A decision on the application will be made next week.

A jury in the US city of Worcester are deciding if a stripper's moves on a thirteen year old boy are a sexual assault.
“24 year old Jenna Wright is charged with indecent assault and battery on a child under 14 and showing obscene material to a minor. It is alleged that she danced provocatively up against the boy and showed him nude photos of herself stored on her cell phone.
Now 14, the unnamed boy testified yesterday in Worcester District Court that on December 19 last year, he was playing with a remote control car outside. Wright approached him and began dancing up against him, the boy testified, rubbing her buttocks against his hip area.
"She just kept rubbing up against me until I got pinned up against my cousin's car. It just made me uncomfortable. I didn't know what to do," the boy testified.
The boy said neither he nor Wright spoke during the approximately 10 minutes of dancing, and she stopped when his father came out.
The father then drove the boy and his sister back to their mother's Southborough home. Wright came along and when his father got out at a gas station, she asked if the boy wanted to see pictures of her car. But the boy said he found himself looking at two photos of Wright, one of her topless and kissing another woman's breasts.
Police claim Wright worked as a dancer for The Squire in Revere, but the club's owners has said there is no record of Wright working there.
If convicted, Wright faces up to two and a half years in jail.
UPDATE: Wright was acquitted of all charges. She blamed the boy's mother for the accusation against her. "The woman's very malicious and evil. None of this is very surprising."
Wright's former boyfriend, Ed Johnson, said "it should never have gotten this far. My ex-wife has said since the day we separated that she would do anything to bring me down." “Johnson and his ex-wife, Lori have been divorced for seven years.
Police claims that Wright was an exotic dancer at The Squire were denied by the strip club's owner. Wright said she worked as a bartender there a handful of times.

Norway's 'russ' is a time when students go crazy just prior to final exams - like a chilly Spring Break we assume. But this year, one poor girl has been grabbing the headlines after her antics were caught on camera.
A 19 year old - as yet unnamed - student boosted her campaign to be russ president by stripping naked - save for a Norwegian flag painted over her shaven pudenda - during student assembly at Atlanten High School in Kristiansund two weeks ago. It was a stunt which may have gone unnoticed had it not been filmed. The video footage was then posted on news site TV 2 Nettavisen's web site.
TV 2 Nettavisen's editor Gunnar Stavrum backed the decision to host the video. "The story has already been made public. The performance took place in public. The video is of public interest. It illustrates how far the russ go. In addition, it would be a bit strange to write about it without showing the video," Stavrum said.
However, the link was later removed from the story after public outcry. If readers know where it can be found now, please pass on the information.

A man convicted of sexually assaulting women in Tulsa while posing as a stripper has admitted probation violation after being arrested on similar allegations in Missouri. Tulsa County District Judge Rebecca Nightingale sentenced West to two years in prison.
West was charged in Tulsa in June 2001 with first-degree rape and sexual battery. Allegedly, West would approach small groups of women in apartment buildings and say he was there to deliver a "stripper-gram." Once inside, he danced and stripped.
He then began improperly touching women and moved on to rape, police reported.
On Jan. 31, 2002, West pleaded guilty to three counts of assault with an intent to commit a felony. Associate District Judge Deirdre Dexter granted a deferred sentence that would allow West to have his case dismissed with no prison time and no conviction if he completed four years of probation.
In the spring of 2004, a woman in Joplin said a man pushed open her door and groped her during a dance routine. Joplin police arrested West, who eventually was convicted of misdemeanor sexual misconduct.

Small minded people made naturist Robert Norton's life a misery, and even in death he cannot enjoy the freedom he wanted. Despite clearly asking to be buried naked, his family - led somewhat predictably by his Minister brother - has dressed him for his funeral and interment.
Norton, who died aged 82, spent four decades in and out of court fighting repeated arrests for gardening and wandering around his own property in the nude. He suffered 20 indecency arrests since 1962, continually arguing that he had a constitutional right to public nakedness.
"He was a naturist, and he just chose to be in the nude as people who are seeking nature. He was a peace-loving person," said his more tolerant sounding brother, Duane.
Clearly less tolerant was neighbour Brenda Loete, who lived next door to Norton for a dozen years before he moved into a nursing home after a fall
S
he never spoke to her exhibitionist neighbour, choosing instead to impose her narrow minded views on him from a distance. "We didn't really know him. We just had him arrested," Loete said. "Normally, if we had him arrested in the spring he'd be gone for the summer and we wouldn't have to worry about him until the next spring."

Many
years ago, your Striporama editor used to live in Manchester, which was plagued by a anti-sex feminist infected council who imposed their own strict morality on everyone else. Not much has changed, it seems, as two council employees have been sacked and 20 more suspended for the heinous crime of emailing a 'topless' photo of Welsh warbler Charlotte Church.
They were punished after senior staff at Manchester City Council discovered the pictures were being circulated following a routine computer check.
A co-worker commented "this is a disgrace. The picture is harmless and has done the rounds across Britain. It was not exactly hardcore porn and probably a fake anyway. It was a joke - no-one thought they'd lose their jobs over it."
The photos were first circulated earlier this year after the singer had allegedly sent one of the images to the mobile phone of her boyfriend Gavin Henson - which was then lost. Shortly afterwards, the photo was being offered to the tabloids for £20,000.
Church, 19, claimed she was wearing a bra in the original snap and insists the nudity is fake - readers can judge for themselves.
Manchester City Council confirmed a disciplinary investigation was under way but refused to comment further. "The council has clear policies on the misuse of e-mail," a spokesman said. So presumably anyone using email for non-work related communication will also be fired then? No, thought not...

Newport councillor Peter Davies has been forced
to resign from the local licensing committee after declaring that he wished to voice constituents objections to a lap dancing club's application for longer opening hours.
This would have led to an obvious conflict of interests - the licensing Calmat is in theory at least supposed to be objective. But Davies said the rules had been followed too strictly.
"I was not going to be on the panel of three deciding the matter and so I feel I should have been allowed to represent the views of the constituents who are opposed to the plans. But I was told that as a member of the licensing committee that I should not be allowed to put forward these views at all.
" So I felt it necessary to resign because there is no way I am not going to represent the people who have asked me to represent them."

He added "Personally I am not too bothered about the nudity, but I am sympathetic to the views of others and I have been asked by them to represent these views to the committee.
" One man has asked me to put his views forward - he is already woken at 2.30 in the morning when the clubs close and he doesn't want to be woken up again at 4.30 and again at 6.30. All he wants is a decent night's sleep without being woken by the sound of taxis driving fast up the road and the sound of people leaving the clubs."

The application to extend opening hours to 6am will be considered today.

A new billboard advertising a strip club near Los Angeles International Airport is causing outrage amongst the city's more humourless residents.
The sign replaces one Howard White has used for years stating "Live Nude Nude Nudes" to promote his Century Lounge. But White's new slogan - "Vaginas R' Us" - is upsetting critics who find it too explicit. Nearby businesses have complained, but city officials say the sign isn't illegal because the word "vagina" is not an obscene word.
White himself argues that the Vagina Monologues has been on Broadway for years without causing offence. However, the business association is determined to impose its narrow morality and has contacted Toys R Us, hoping it will take legal action. The company says it's looking into the matter immediately.

Forest Heath District Council's licensing committee have finally agreed to a variation in the Usher's Lakenheath Country Club public entertainment licence to allow total nudity.
As we reported in June, an application was made to allow exotic dancing at the club, which is close to a US Air base.
Dancers will be allowed to perform nude, with a mid-thigh garter to collect tips from customers. The rules also state there must be no physical contact between customers and dancers who are not allowed to be closer than 80cm to members of the audience during a performance.
There were no objections to the application by Pete Usher, who runs the club. His lawyer Nageena Khalique told the committee that most of the customers would be American Air Force servicemen.
Usher said "I'm pleased that I can now get on with it".
No date has been set for the first nude show, but they are likely to be staged at weekends.

Buffy The Vampire Slayer star Sarah Michelle Gellar
has been claiming that she wants a nude role in a movie before she hits 30 so that fans can see her in her prime. The actress is currently 28 years old, so producers with screenplays calling for extensive nakedness should take note.
Keen to shed her clean teen image (though surely her SM-flavoured trysts in the latter series of Buffy helped do that!), Gellar said "I am approaching 30 and I need a change. The sort of roles I would like are not being offered, so this way might just shock people into choosing me". She's rumoured to be in the pipeline for the lead role in Southland Tales, playing a porn star who develops her own reality TV show.
Meanwhile, she's appearing in the movie version of surreal video game Alice, due for release in 2006.

Stupid and easily offended locals in Naperville have complained to police after strippers enlivened a golf tournament... despite no nudity or actual sexual activity taking place.
A local strip club hired the County Lakes golf course on Monday and decided to make the deadly dull game a little more interesting by providing strippers to cavort with golfers. Nosy local residents videotaped the antics on the course which included
a man apparently getting a lap dance in a golf cart, another playing golf with his arms wrapped around a woman and a woman in a short skirt in "a lewd pose" with golfers. No nudity was involved, but residents were still upset.
Nearby neighbour Cathy Jaeger whined "there's always children out here. It's during the summer, in the middle of the day, and what's going on out here shouldn't have been taking place when there was children. Times were, there'd be several girls on top of each other, and they were lying on top of the tees, doing different seductive moves. They were trying to get tips from the gentlemen. They were all wearing garter belts."
Although the wearing of garter belts is not a crime - especially when combined with other clothing - local police are investigating. Meanwhile, trainee prude Marcellous Johnson, all of 8 years old, commented "It was nasty. Because their chests were showing, and stuff."
