Strippers from across Alberta will be giving a charity show to raise money for three Edmonton boys suffering from a rare disorder.
Nikki Miranda's three boys - Tyler, 7, Jordan, 4, and Riley, 2 - need $1-million-a-year therapy that isn't covered by the government because it has yet to be approved in Canada.
"I saw their picture in the paper and I started crying. They're so cute and so little,"
said Rylee, a 24-year-old Edmonton stripper.
Rylee said she and her boyfriend were discussing the ailing brothers' plight when they came up with the idea for a stripathon.
Rylee OK'd her idea with Miranda and approached Showgirls promotions manager Paul Ballach, who is scheduling stripathons at clubs in Edmonton and Grande Prairie.
Ballach estimates both stripathons could raise in excess of $20,000.
Miranda said she has no hang-ups about the looming stripathons.
"I don't care who they are, they're people. I don't care who helps," she said.

The women of China are cautiously dipping their toes into the world of pole dancing as exercise.
Luo Lan manages the country;s first pole dancing school says she is trying to make the exercise fun.
"When I first started people would only come furtively, and not tell their boyfriends or husbands," Luo told Reuters in the apartment she has converted into a dance studio with poles bolted to the floor and roof.
"But over the last year, people have started to hear more about pole dancing, and they know it's purely for keeping fit.
"Now people come and say, oh, my husband let me sign up. This progress is very obvious,"
she added. "The more and more people do it the wider the acceptance will be. They'll see that it's normal and natural."
Luo started her school in Beijing last July. She now runs up to three classes a day, for a maximum of seven students, who pay 110 yuan a session.
Student Yuan Xi dismissed concerns that pole dancing is just for bar girls or strippers.
"China is a very conservative country, and many people cannot accept this," said the 22-year-old. "Some men seem to think it's only about sex, but it's not. It's about dancing."

Plans to bring striptease to Chichester have been blocked by district councillors.
Although the plans (which we reported on earlier this month) were distinctly tame, they were still rejeceted by the backward councillors.
They claimed particular note was taken of the high density of homes in the area around.
Foaming-at-the-mouth local residents and church representatives had opposed the application to allow adult entertainment at The Cave Wine Bar and Brasserie, in St Pancras.

Liz Renay, former stripper and cult movie star, died last Monday near her home in Las Vegas. She was 80.
The cause was internal bleeding, said her son, Johnny McLain.
Renay began working as a Vegas showgirl in her teens after running away from home and her strict Christian parents. She later became a model and in the 1950's she worked as a stripper in New York and was 'close' to a number of mobsters including Mickeyt Cohen and Tony 'Cappy' Coppola. These relationships finally saw her serving 27 months in prison for perjury.
Her movies include John Waters' Desperate Living, Ray Dennis Steckler's The Thrill Killers, Blackenstein, Lady Godiva Rides and more recently The Corpse Grinders II.
In 1974, she was arrested (and later acquitted) fort streaking down Hollywood Boulevard, and she also found time to write a number of ewntertainingly trashy autobiographies.
Renay continued to perform burlesque into her fifties, and last June she appeared at the 49th annual Striptease Reunion sponsored by the Exotic World Burlesque Museum in Las Vegas.

A New Zealand student has found herself in trouble after stripping off at Scott Base in the Antarctic.
The student was there as part of the University of Canterbury's Graduate Certificate in Antarctic Studies.
She was drinking in a bar when a man stripped down to his underwear and scampered around the pool table. She offered to do the same - if bar patrons paid her $NZ200. They did and she saw through the bet, going a step further and removing her underwear.
The incident is believed to have enraged Antarctica New Zealand management who may discipline those involved.

Many hotel visitors around the world can already enjoy porn on demand. Now, one entrepreneur plans to bring live interactive striptease to hotel TVs.
Gregory Clayman, president and CEO of Video Secrets and flirt4free.com is planning to introduce live chats with scantily clad performers in real time, with the option of paying to have them strip and put on sexy private shows.

Clayman says he's talking to major hotel-entertainment providers and thinks the service could be up and running within the next year.

After a four-hour hearing last week, members of Derwentside District Council's alcohol and entertainment licensing sub-committee granted the Red Velvet club a license to host semi-nude dancing.
Sukhdev "Sonny" Gill told the hearing that the club would vigorously enforce age restrictions and would have no insensitive advertising outside the premises.
But inevitably, the usual idiots have been trotting out unsubstaniated nonsense to try and block the club's opening. Reverend Stephen Dallin, superintendent Methodist Minister for Derwentside, shamefully claimed that he feared the opening of the club could lead to further incidents similar to the brutal rape of a young woman in Blackhill Park, in November 2005, and that the club would impact on children attending young people's groups at the nearby Methodist Church, in Station Road.
However, the committee of three councillors granted the application after hearing that none of the statutory bodies, including the police, has raised any objections to the club.
They also said that only objections from people living within 200 yards of the club could be considered, which ruled out the majority of those who had signed the petition.
Protestors said they were now considering their next course of action. May we humbly suggest that it should be to shut the fuck up...

The deputy mayor and councillor for Economy on Lepe council in Spain, 35 year old María Dolores Jiménez, is one of the entrants in this year's Miss Lepe competition. She has appeared nude in this week's edition of the Lepe Urbana magazine that is sponsoring the event.
Her political opponents have been surprisingly supportive.
The general secretary of the local PSOE party, María Bella Martín, congratulated her for "some fantastic photos, and she looks perfect," while María Luisa di Prisco said that "it is an initiative that should be applauded, and if she wants to do it, I think's it's fantastic because she's gorgeous."
Sexually repressed British politicians take note.

Miss Jiménez appears naked on a beach on the front cover of the magazine while inside, she is shown sitting naked in a field surrounded by books.
The first prize for the winner of the beauty contest is €500.

The Ann Summers chain has been forced out of a backward Scots town after locals complained about the window displays.
Parents in Perth claim they were bombarded with embarrassing questions about skimpy undies and sex toys after the shop opened in the town's High Street. This despite the absence of sex toys from any Ann Summers window displays. We suspect lies abounding here.
There were so many pathetic complaints that the firm had to have their window dressing approved by Perth and Kinross Council.
Now the chain haveadmitted defeat and shut the Perth shop.
A company insider said: "We have been dogged by problems since we opened in Perth.
"With our other UK stores there have been very few complaints. For some reason it has been different here."
Sexually retarded locals said they were glad to see the back of the chain.
The breathtakingly idiotic Ian Thomson, 61, of Muirton, said: "We have high standards in our fair city and there's no place for this kind of muck.
"A nice tearoom selling homemade scones and jam is far more our cup of tea than saucy outfits and strange sexual accoutrements."

Now, we at Striporama are not often short of a pithy comment on such people, but frankly, words fail us this time.
The Perth closure comes as Ann Summers prepares to expand in Edinburgh after its Princes Street store clocked up the highest UK sales.

A US Air Force staff sergeant who posed nude for Playboy has been relieved of her duties while the military investigates.
In the current issue, Michelle Manhart is photographed in uniform yelling and holding weapons under the headline 'Tough Love.'The following pages show her partially clothed, wearing her dog tags while working out, as well as completely nude.
"This staff sergeant's alleged action does not meet the high standards we expect of our airmen, nor does it comply with the Air Force's core values of integrity, service before self, and excellence in all we do," Oscar Balladares, spokesman for Lackland Air Force Base, said in a statement. No doubt they'd prefer her to be bombing civilians, something the airforce presumably thinks is up to their high standards - they are certainly excellent at it..
Manhart told Playboy that she considers herself as standing up for her rights.
"Of what I did, nothing is wrong, so I didn't anticipate anything, of course," Manhart, 30, commented.
"I didn't do anything wrong, so I didn't think it would be a major issue."

Burlesque queen Dita Von Teese has split with goth rocker Marilyn Manson after just one year of marriage.
The officvial reason for the split has been placed on the couple's work schedule causing them to drift apart. But according to reports in the US, Manson's affair with teenage actress Evan Rachel Wood is the real reason for the end of the marriage (other oddball claims include the couple bickering over black eyeliner!).
Wood's close relationship with the star is thought to have been the last straw for Von Teese who filed for divorce last month.
Manson and the actress have been friends since the rocker asked her to appear in his soon to be released horror film, Phantasmagoria: The Visions of Lewis Caroll.
A 'source' told gossip rag People "Dita is heartbroken, she didn't see this coming. His partying contributed to the split as well."
Both Manson and Wood were unavailable for comment.

The owners of Maryland strip clubs are battling the county council, claiming Prince George County is treating them unfairly by enforcing tighter regulations.
The Adult Entertainment Clubs Bill bans dancers from performing nude in a public place, or within 6 feet of a patron in a private club. It also prohibits patrons from touching a nude dancer. Violators of the regulations, including patrons, dancers and owners, can be fined $1,000 or jailed for six months.
Larry Bledsoe, owner of Showcase Theater and two other strip club owners in the county filed a federal lawsuit last summer against the county, claiming the tight regulations have hurt business.
According to the report, Bledsoe said the regulations have cost his business $80,000: Several customers will not come back until the lawsuit is settled.

Humourless British TV bosses have launched an inquiry after children's favourite Fireman Sam appeared in a 'sex video'.
A 21-second clip featuring the cartoon character simulating a sexual act was posted on YouTube, though it now seems to have disappeared.
The clip shows two people dressed as Fireman Sam and Sali Mali - a well-known Welsh TV character - in what appears to be a dressing room. The characters then pretend to have sex. It's hardly explicit, and now worse than the sort of thing C4 do all the time. But it seems to have upset their Welsh division.
An S4C spokesman said "the content on YouTube has been noted and S4C will further investigate the matter."

The famous dance-bar girls of Bombay are planning to stage a comeback - by standing as candidates in local elections next month. Their platform is simple: to overturn the citywide ban on their work and reopen the clubs where they used to perform.
The government of Maharashtra state closed the bars as part of a morality drive in 2005, putting around 75,000 dancers out of work. It accused them of "corrupting the youth" and being barely disguised brothels, accusations the dancers and bar owners deny. They say they were performers and there was no sex involved.
Now the dancers plan to stand in at least 50 of the 227 seats in Bombay's municipal election on 1 February.
Chandni Khan, a former dance-bar girl who plans to stand, said "by winning the election and participating in the administration we want to give a fitting reply to those who banned us."
The dancers got the idea to stand after a bar girl won a village council election in rural Maharashtra last year.

January 02 2007 - 'Topless' dancers shock Japanese TV viewers

Japanese TV, when seen in the UK, seems awash with topless girls and mad people, so it's quite a shock to hear that viewers were distressed by apparently topless girls on their screens this New Year. But they were.
NHK were forced to apologise to viewers of its New Year's Eve music special after DJ Ozma's backing dancers appeared to whip 'em out in prime-time.
The dancers looked as though they were wearing nothing but bikini briefs and feathered headdresses, prompting about 250 viewers to phone in and complain.
"The dancers were wearing body suits, but we apologize for any misunderstanding," a presenter announced towards the end of the 57th annual Red and White Song Contest.
And although close examination of the outfits proives this, they do look strangely real! Perhaps beleagured strip clubs which are banned from showing nudity should contact DJ Ozma to get the name of his costume designer...

A popular live music venue and function room in Chichester could become the first ever 'exotic' dancing club in West Sussex.
The Cave has applied to Chichester District Council's licensing department to change a number of conditions which include adding pole dancing to its range of entertainment.
But don't expect them to puch the boat out in terms of raunchiness. In fact, the venue seems to be going out of its way to placate any prudes in the local area.
They have already sent out letters to households in the immediate area outlining a series of strict conditions it has promised to uphold.
The letter states that lap dancing would be open only to people aged over 21 and on a members-only basis.
After applying for membership guests would have to wait a minimum of 48 hours before they could attend for the first time. Which seems excessive, but we wish them luck nonetheless.

A comment by Thailand's Queen has set off a campaign against dancers known as Coyote Girls.
Inspired by the movie Coyote Ugly, Bangkok nightclubsbegan to feature their own brand of bar-dancing Coyote Girls a few years ago. Soon they were dancing at auto shows. Shopping malls and businesses hired them to promote new products. A troupe even entertained soldiers manning their tanks in Bangkok on a September afternoon after the military staged a coup.
But Queen Sirikit intervened after a recent performance near a Buddhist temple, on one of the religion's holiest days, prompting a crackdown that has turned Coyote Girls into a subject of national debate and official disapproval.
"Coyote Girls have to be in the right place, like an animal has to be in the zoo," said Ladda Thungsupachai, director of the Culture Watch Center, which wants to restrict the dancing to nightclubs and bars.
Although they stay clothed during their performances, Coyote Girls are now banned from dancing in public places, particularly near Buddhist temples, and more measures are in the works.

Ghastly 'actress' Lindsay Lohan has announced "I love strippers". Possibly because she was about to be surrounded by them.
After arriving at a topless bar in New York, Lohan - better known for being unable to wear knickers than for her film and music career - jumped onstage to feebly perform a routine, then called all the topless dancers into the bathroom to apologize for recently calling them all "whores" and "cunts" in a leaked email. Quite right too - I mean, talk about pots and kettles...
Lohan plays a topless dancer in the upcoming film I Know Who Killed Me had naturally enraged the dancers. But they accepted her apology, presumably realising that she is too stupid to take seriously.

As reported last month, York nightclub Bohemia applied to hold lap dancing, resulting in predictable complaints.
Thankfully, the local council have given their approval. The proposals were passed by City of York Council without being referred to a licensing committee of councillors.
The council could only consider representations about the structural alterations, and only if relevant representations were received would a licensing committee hearing be held.
A council spokeswoman said that under the terms of the new Licensing Act, the owners were able to apply to carry out lap dancing because they would have been able to do so under the old licensing laws - dubbed Grandfathers' rights.

Bohemia spokesman Hong Poc said that the first public evening of erotic dancing will take place on Friday, January 12.
